Tips & Tricks of the Trade: Flip Flap Tabs & Two Tone Stamping

In Tips and Tricks of the Trade by Lynn Como

I recently had the time to create my own artwork using some beautiful photos.  Rick took a magnficent photo of this lighthouse which is a part of the Isles of Shoals.  The photo captured my heart and I wanted to scrap it.  Using the colors in the photo helped me choose the scheme below.  These oldies were from No Worries and Regatta; I used fundamental retired embellishments, as well as retired Rustic Alphabet Set (my two tone title).

I thought (with a little push from Linda M.), wouldn’t it be nice to teach you a few tricks of the trade for your own layouts?  In the video below (which was saved from a LIVE FB post), you’ll learn how to create a flip flap TAB.  The fundamental accessories I used are on CLEARANCE (reduced from $9.95 to $3.25) in four colors (we used to have about 8).  You can stil buy the last 4 colors HERE On ths link.

Right after that, I show you how I created the lighthouse and ‘extra’ rocks.  So fun and easy to do!

Lastly, the best part … the video will cover exactly how I used my stamps to create the title in a TWO TONE fashion.  I share my tips.  I share another fun look with shadowing.  I show you sponging.  Then I even go beyond and how you some samples of the TWO TONE look on other layouts.  I think you’ll enjoy this video and learn to have fun with stamping!

Remember … take your stamps out when you scrapping. Try these tips for your titles … or use them on your stamps to give you a unique look!
