Products Retiring from 2022/2023 Core Catalog

Close to My Heart unveiled the RETIRING LIST of amazing products from this year’s CORE catalog.
  • LOTS of items are on this list (flip flaps, albums, stamps, tools, etc.)
  • Some things will sell out or may have sold out already … so …
  • If you see something you gotta have, go for it!

Yes, there are items I would love to see stay, but Close to My Heart needs to streamline their inventory to more popular and useful items.  As a Maker, I am not privy to all the behind the scenes designing, buying, stocking and selling of our products.  I just create with what they give me! So it has been a real eye opener to hear just how challenging it is for our company to purchase products in quantities that take years for us to move.   I don’t know about you, but if I had to deal with this issue personally and lay out that kind of cash … I know I wouldn’t survive financially.  So it does make sense to make these changes going forward and be smart about what we sell and for our future.
Close to My Heart has had to make some very hard decisions, and I’m sure it’s been a challenge to know what needs to go and what is safe to stay.  You are going to see many 3rd party items like tools, oxide inks, liquid pearls and stickles, gloss sprays and even some of our scrap-happy flip flaps, albums and page protectors.  I know … hard to believe!
However, you may see us come back with a product in the future, but it will be for that catalog/collection only. Items like gloss spray, stickles, oxide inks, to feature a technique may come back but just for that time frame or collection.  The plan is to be purposeful in what we stock, and spend money on new and exciting new products we can use in creative ways.  Perhaps we will come out with something special that will be more in line with a specific theme to match a collection?  Who knows … but I’m cool with it!
I think you are going to be pretty surprised by the extensiveness of this list.  I never worry about what’s going because I always know something NEW is ahead! So, that’s how I look at retiring products. BUY what you NEED to have. If something you WANTED is RETIRED, I’m sure the future will hold something better for you.
