Scrapbooking my photos from Thailand
Back in 2018, I had earned the Close to my Heart Incentive Trip to Thailand. It wasn’t a place that was on my bucket list, but Rick and I enjoyed our adventure along with other consultants and hubbies who attended.
This is one of two trips that I am working on to scrapbook. This one has been a long time coming and I only recently started and it feels so good!! I think it has to do with papers, kits and the overall feeling of the photos. IDK why I didn’t see this one come together sooner, but that’s okay … I’m glad I’m spending more time looking through and remembering all the good times of this trip.
Memories in Bloom Layout 5. TIP: using our two tone cardstock, embossing it and SANDING … really makes the design POP when you do this technique.
Here’s a look at what I scrapped recently using my photos and the layout above I had created back in June using Memories in Bloom Scrapbook Kit. I can’t believe this kit is still kicking around because it offers quite a few great layouts. Embracing My Love for Orange in Scrapbooking
Those who know me well understand that orange is my signature color! In this layout, I’ve combined Timid Tiger, Secret Sea, and a splash of Pool Party. I incorporated some Cricut pieces for the flowers and watering can, utilized an embossing folder for the design on the can, and added sanding to make it stand out.
One key takeaway about creating pages ahead of your photos is that it results in a library of designs where all the hard work is already completed. You can then sift through your photos and print them in the necessary sizes. While I don’t rely on an app for this, I have found a free account option on Fotojet online. I prefer viewing my photos on my PC due to the larger screen and advanced editing features. If you would like to know more about my Fotojet class, click here.
These photos are from our visit to Chiang Mai in February 2018, during their annual Chiang Mai BLOOMS Flower Festival. We were fortunate to time our visit perfectly to experience this vibrant event. The festival showcased an incredible and colorful array of flowers shaped into animals, pottery, landscapes, and various floats. So many beautiful colors, and orange is definitely a favorite here as well.
As you can see, I managed to incorporate 8 photos instead of 6 on this page by adding the flip flap. What I truly appreciate about flip flaps is that they allow you to include more photos within the same ‘photo well.’ Additionally, they provide a fantastic opportunity to share your story and journal your thoughts here.
Please NOTE:It’s important to remember that you don’t need to use every kit all at once. Embrace versatility and avoid the mindset of thinking, “I’ll never use this,” or feeling pressure to utilize everything simultaneously. Be patient, and view the layouts as a chance to highlight a diverse range of memories at any moment or location. This flexibility is what truly makes it special.
Reflecting on a Memorable Experience
The initial layout above was created in September 2025, and at that time, I didn’t have a clear plan for which photos to include. It’s one of those delightful uncertainties; you never really know what memories will resonate or when they might come alive. That’s the magic of crafting pages and having a library of moments to draw from.
As the day turned into evening, I captured these memories on Lovely Florals Layout #2 shown above. The photos showcase the Flower Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We strolled through the streets, soaking in the beauty of the floats and gardens. The display of floral arrangements was absolutely stunning, featuring a vibrant array of flowers! Additionally, the beautifully landscaped gardens and simple bridges adorned with lights came to life as day transformed into night, creating a picturesque feast for the eyes.
Enchanting Florals Layout 2
Pretty Peacock is the TEAL that stands out beautifully in this design. I adore the arrangement; who would have thought the blue leaves would complement this layout so perfectly? Although it was initially crafted for fall, my photos convey an entirely different narrative. The colors captured in the images truly POP against this layout, while the clusters of flowers and leaves maintain a gentler tone.
I certainly wanted to include additional details along with another photo. I really appreciate the 4×3 flip flaps for this purpose.
I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to experience everything and spend quality time together. The ladies from SU! were an absolute delight! We shared endless laughter, and our group enjoyed a dinner that felt fit for royalty. The food was simply exquisite!
