Working on my own personal scrapbooking

In General Information, Vacation by Lynn Como

So little by little, I am working on our most recent vacation to Puerto Vallarta Mexico we took in March.  It was a vacation earned with Close To My Heart and as a recipient, CTMH sends us 10 layouts (precut) to put together.  I’m using all of them but many times I tweak a few too.  So, here’s my inspiration for you this week.  I hope you enjoy these ideas as much as I have.

In the layout below, we used Memo Fundamentals (great for travel) as the base pages.  Then Whimsy Fundamental papers were used for the triangles.  Yes, I will be using this idea in an upcoming Kit of the Month.  It was fun and very easy to do!  I love the cricut cut palm trees and sun burst.  The sea shells were thin cut and stamped too.  I loved using up some old stash and adding the little bronze gems (coconuts).

Here’s another use for the Memo Fundamental papers.  Using them as 11 1/2 x 11 1/2’s layered on top of Sunset cardstock (retired color).  My kids really loved playing volleyball each day on the beach and this was a great way to use the photos in 3×3 sizes.  Plus I love the 5×7 photo … they look great!

If you want to know what I’m using for developing … I invested in the Epson Picture Mate 400 and it does a tremendous job!  The colors are so vibrant and it does print 5 x 7 photos!  I am using Picmonkey to create the 3 x 3 photos and print them out on one 4×6 photo.

Many of the layouts use the Dreamin’ Big product line (I still have kits for sale as they are retired).  The colors are wonderful for Mexico.  Here’s another layout:

I enjoyed adding two flip flaps to this as well.  I wanted to tell the story and I placed the journaling under the flip flaps.  I was able to add 3 more photos too.

Well, I have more to scrap but that’s a start.  I hope you are enjoying Spring but plan on catching up on your own scrapbooks.  With all the rain we’ve been having … it’s a good thing … for you and Mother Nature!
